Latoya London Information
LaToya Renee London (December 29, 1978) is an American soul and R&B singer and a stage actress. She was born in San Francisco, California. She sang at her mother's wedding at seven years old, her first public musical performance. Her love of singing began when she was four years old when she frequently sang at Allen Temple Baptist Church. From 1993 to 1996, she was part of the Oakland Youth Chorus. She graduated from Skyline High School in 1996.
London auditioned in Los Angeles, California, for the third season of American Idol. Despite progress, she had not been featured extensively in any aired video, and many fans had written her off before the first studio performances. Love & Life, her debut studio album, was released on September 20, 2005. Love & Life was a combination of R&B, soul, jazz, and hip-hop that featured London's songwriting alongside tracks from well-known producers, including David Foster and Narada Michael Walden.
London followed up with two more singles in 2006, "Every Part of Me" and "State of My Heart," with the latter reaching number 40 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Tracks chart and number five on the Friday Morning Quarterback's Adult Contemporary spin list.
