Lamp Information
Lamp is a 2000-formed indie band from Japan. When Someya was in middle school, she picked up a guitar. He met Nagai in high school at the folk club and made friends with him since they both loved music from the 1960s. Thanks to a friend, Sakakibara started Lamp after meeting Someya in college. Their collaboration in songwriting started in February 2000.
In 2001, after composing enough songs for a demo cassette, they performed their debut performance at a little Japanese pub. They crossed paths with Osamu Sakuma in 2002; he was a representative from the now-defunct record company Motel Bleu. Stardust In Blue, which includes UWANOSORA on vocals and was released on September 8, 2020, has Kaede as the lead singer. Every track features backup vocals except Jupiter, which has just Kaede and UWANOSORA.
Their eighth studio album, Dusk to Dawn, was released on October 10, 2023. According to an interview with Tokion, the album has been in the works since 2019. Twenty tracks are on the CD because Taiyo Someya wrote many more songs than he had anticipated. For the first time, Someya acknowledged himself as the album's producer, thanks to his substantial lyrical contributions.
