Eulaulah Donyll "Lalah" Hathaway is a singer, songwriter, arranger, and record producer who is famous as a multiple Grammy-Award winning personality from Chicago, Illinois. Her music is defined as soul, jazz, gospel, and R&B. Hathaway released a self-titled album in 1990, and in 1994, she released A Moment. The album debuted at number 34 on the Top R&B albums chart.
Hathaway has worked with established musicians by writing, producing, and singing background vocals for individuals like Marcus Miller, Take 6, Mary J. Blige, and The Winans. Hathaway joined GRP and collaborated with Joe Sample on The Song Lives On in 1999, which reached number 2 on the jazz album chart and turned out to be her second debut on the Billboard Hot 200.
Hathaway released a cover version of the song by Luther Vandross entitled "Forever, for Always, for Love” in 2004. This song appeared on the all-star tribute album Forever, for Always, for Luther, and reached number 1 on the Adult R&B chart. She was featured on Donald Lawrence's debut solo album entitled I Speak Life as a lead vocalist on the song "Don't Forget to Remember." Hathaway even partook in the international Daughters of Soul tour.
