Kindred the Family Soul Information
Kindred, the Family Soul, sometimes called "Kindred," is an American neo-soul pair of Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon. With 2004's Surrender to Love and 2006's BET J Cool Like That, the pair was nominated for Best R&B/Soul Album, Group Band or pair at the Soul Train Music Awards. On October 21, 2008, the band released their third studio album, The Arrival.
Surrender to Love, Hidden Beach's debut album, released in February 2003 after two years of recording, had the song "Far Away '' among its tracks. The title of their 2005 follow-up album, In This Life Together, was a nod to the book With Ossie & Ruby: The Story of Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis, published in 1998.
Love Has No Recession, the group's 2011 album, included guest appearances by Bilal, Snoop Dogg, Raheem Devaughn, BJ the Chicago Kid, and the late Chuck Brown, among many others. The track "Magic Happens" from that record reached 40th on the Urban AC singles chart.
While Kindred worked hard on their interview and performance series Kindred Presents, they were also getting ready to release new music in 2020. Their track "Break It Down" was included in the album "Auntie & Unc," published in 2021.
