Junius Information
Junius is a Boston, Massachusetts-based rock band that was established in 2003. Ben Gram, Orion Wainer, Drew Speziale, Dana Filloon, and Joseph E. Martinez make up the band's current roster. Junius is the pseudonym of a political writer who flourished in the late 18th century.
Junius's first two EPs, Forcing Out the Silence (2004) and Blood is Bright (2005), were released on Radar Recordings (2006). They reissued the EPs as a single self-titled CD in 2007. Radar Recordings also released this album. The band went through several bass players before settling on Joel Munguia, who was originally credited on the band's third EP, The Fires of Antediluvia, published in May 2007.
The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist was released in 2009. The trio took nearly three years to make the record, inspired by thinker Immanuel Velikovsky's writings.
Junius released their second full-length album, Reports from the Threshold of Death, on October 25, 2011. Prosthetic Records was released and distributed. Junius will replace Ghost (Swedish band) on the 2011 Enslaved (band)/Alcest tour in support of Reports' imminent release. Junius toured Europe, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom in 2012 after the release of the Reports, alongside Katatonia and Alcest, visiting over 20 countries.
