Joywave Information
Joywave is an indie rock American band that is based in Rochester, New York. The band was formed in 2010. The lineup of the group consists of Paul Brenner (drums), Benjamin Bailey (keyboards), Daniel Armbruster (vocals), and Joseph Morinelli (guitar). All five members of the Joywave grew up in Rochester, New York; hence, the band formed in Rochester. In 2011, the band released its first mixtape by the name 77777, and in 2012, they released their first EP entitled “Koda Vista.”
Joywave’s member Armbruster wrote the song “Dangerous.” Wilkis and Armbruster on the vocals recorded the song. The credit of the song was given to Big Data, featuring Joywave. The group got major attention after the release of “Dangerous.” Later on, they released another EP in 2014 named “How Do You Feel?”. On April 21, 2015, the band released their debut LP by the name “How Do You Feel Now?”. The album was first released in the United States and then on June 22, 2015, in the United Kingdom. The LP brought major success to the band as it reached number 25 on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart, number 3 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, and number 34 on the Top Rock Albums chart.
Joywave’s single from their EP “Tongues” was featured in Fifa 15 and Google Nexus commercial. In April 2017, the band released its first single “Content” from their upcoming second album. The album was also named similar to the released single. Later in May 2017, the second single from the same album “It’s a Trip!” got released. Eventually, the entire album released on July 28, 2018. They released their third album “Possession” on March 13, 2020.
