John Paul White Information
John Paul White (August 4, 1972) is an American singer and songwriter. He was born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. In Loretto, Tennessee, he attended Sacred Heart School and Sacred Heart Catholic Church as a child and graduated from Loretto High School. Among his four siblings, he is the oldest. As part of the band Nuthin' Fancy, White recorded his first album on his own. Jeff Quillen recorded the album at Rock N Roll Dawg Sound/Studio in Loretto, Tennessee, where he grew up.
The Long Goodbye was White's 2008 album. The following year, White formed The Civil Wars with Joy Williams. The Grammy Awards for Best Folk Album and Country Performance by a Duo or Group went to the duo in 2012. He sang "Kyrie," a duet with Emmylou Harris, on the album Mercyland: Hymns for the Rest of Us, Vol. II, in 2015. Then, in 2016, White released a solo song called "Simple Song" on Dave Cobb's album Southern Family. On August 19, 2016, his album Beulah was published.
In 2017, White collaborated with Rodney Crowell and Rosanne Cash on the song "It Ain't Over Yet." Crowell's album Close Ties featured the song.
