John Mark McMillan (November 27, 1979) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter from Charlotte, North Carolina. His music is defined as alternative rock and contemporary worship. McMillan works within the Christian music industry but started his official career in 2002 with his debut album entitled Hope Anthology, Volume 1. McMillan released The Song Inside: The Sounds of Breaking Down in 2005. This discography included the track named "How He Loves" covered by several well-known artists, such as the David Crowder Band, within the Christian music industry. For McMillan, this song has some sentimental meaning as he wrote it following a dear friend's death.
McMillan was also briefly associated with Integrity Music. He released The Medicine during this association and re-released The Song Inside: The Sounds of Breaking Down. Borderland is another notable discography by him that came out via his independent record label Lionhawk Records. The album was a hit as it debuted at number 41 on the Billboard 200 and number 4 on Billboard's Top Christian Album chart.
