Jimmy Eat World Information
Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band formed in Mesa, Arizona, in 1993. Lead vocalist and lead guitarist Jim Adkins, rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch, and drummer Zach Lind make up the band. Ten studio albums have been published; the latest nine feature the present line-up. With many hits from their album Bleed American (2001), four of which peaked in the top 20 Alternative Songs list, the four-piece's mainstream breakthrough came with "The Middle" at No. 1.
No. 1 single "Pain" off their 2004 follow-up album Futures. The RIAA rewarded the two albums for selling over 1.5 million units between them, certifying Bleed American platinum and Futures gold. Chase This Light (2007), the sixth LP of the band, rose to No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and became their highest-charting album overall.
The band released their ninth album, Surviving, in October 2019. On March 13, 2023, Jimmy Eat World revealed a North American co-headline tour with Manchester Orchestra under "The Amplified Echoes Tour," with Middle Kids opening. Both bands recorded versions of each other as promotional singles ahead of this tour; Jimmy Eat World covered "Telepath" from The Million Masks of God while Manchester Orchestra covered "Table for Glasses from Clarity." The band visited Australia that same month to support My Chemical Romance.
