Jesse Malin Information
Jesse Malin is a guitarist, rock musician, and songwriter. He was born in Queens, New York. Malin began his music career at the age of 12 as the frontman for the hard-core band called Heart Attack. Along with the group, he kept working on other projects as well. He then joined a new band called D Generation as a lead singer and played for almost eight years. The band eventually disbanded in April 1999 after becoming the most noted band of New York City and releasing three hit albums.
Malin continued writing songs and formed two other projects, including Bellvue and PCP Highway. His musical career was heavily influenced by Tom Waits, Steve Earle, and Neil Young. He worked on a fresh sound after he went to pursue his solo career. One of his friends from Whiskeytown was impressed with Malin’s solo work, and he offered to produce his debut album. However, they hadn’t worked on producing an album before, the two-headed into Loho Studios in New York and produced an album in just six days.
Soon, Malin signed a record deal with Artemis Records and released his debut solo album entitled, The Fine Art of Self Destruction. The album was released on December 24, 2002, in the United Kingdom and on January 28, 2003, in the United States. His other studio albums include The Heat (2004), Glitter in the Gutter (2007), On Your Sleeve (2008), Love It to Life (2010), New York Before the War (2015), Outsiders (2015), and Sunset Kids (2019).
