Isley Brothers Information
The Isley Brothers is an American family musical group. They consist of Ronald Isley and Ernie Isley. In 1969, the brothers revived their T-Neck label, inked a distribution contract with Buddah Records, and released "It's Your Thing" in February. The song, which marked the debut of Ernie Isley on bass, became their biggest commercial success to that point, peaking at no. 2 on the Hot 100 and number 1 on the R&B chart.
When Ron and Ernie Isley performed in Atlantic City, NJ, in 2019, they were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National R&B Music Society and a proclamation from the city. The brothers performed at a Verzuz in 2021 alongside Earth, Wind & Fire to honor the two groups' respective contributions to R&B/Pop music and African American culture, hosted by Steve Harvey.
Make Me Say It Again, Girl, the newest album by the Isley Brothers, was released on September 30, 2022. It featured guest appearances from Beyoncé, Earth, Wind & Fire, El DeBarge, and Snoop Dogg. In March 2023, Rudolph Isley launched legal proceedings against his brother Ronald, claiming joint ownership of the Isley Brothers moniker. After leaving the band in the early 1990s, he claimed he was still owed money. Unfortunately, on October 12, 2023, at the age of 84, Rudolph passed away before the trial could begin.
