Hot Buttered Rum is an American band. The group’s current lineup consists of Ben Andrews, James Stafford, Jeff Coleman, Nat Keefe, Erik Yates, and Bryan Horne. Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Bonnaroo Music Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, South by Southwest, Newport Folk Festival, and Telluride Bluegrass Festival are among the festivals where they usually perform.
They’ve also headlined The Fillmore in their hometown of San Francisco and shared the stage with Bill Nershi, Peter Rowan, Bela Fleck, Chris Thile, Ben Harper, and Phil Lesh, among others. When their song “Right Between Your Eyes” was chosen as the theme music for the TV show “Cook’s Country from America’s Test Kitchen” from seasons one through eleven, it earned national attention.
Hot Buttered Rum released its debut album, Live at the Freight and Salvage, in 2002. The album included hit songs such as “The Crest,” “Red Clay Halo,” “Naked Blue,” “Warm Up,” “Norwegian Wood,” “The Trial of John Walker Lindh,” “String’s Breath,” “Red-Haired Boy,” “Elephant Hunting Song,” and “Backrooms of My Mind.”
