American heavy metal/hard rock band He Is Legend. Jessey Shelley (drums), Matty Williams (bass), Adam Tanbouz (lead guitar), and Schuylar Croom round out the current lineup (lead vocals). Inspired by Richard Matheson's novel I Am Legend (1954), the film He Is Legend was released in 2014. After releasing an extended play (EP) titled 91025 in June of 2004, the band signed with Solid State Records and released their debut full-length album, I Am Hollywood, in November of that same year. After spending nearly two years touring the United States and Europe supporting that album, the band relocated to California to work on their next album.
The band played as a quartet throughout the 2009 SXSW festival. Tanbouz announced during a March 17 show in Plano, Texas, that Weaver, who was not onstage that night, is engaged and planning to marry shortly and will devote more time to his solo musical career working on his studio and compositions. Since the band's 2007 "Peanut Butt Tour," Worth Weaver has been filling in for them whenever necessary.
He Is Legend went on an "indefinite hiatus" in September 2009, albeit the band never officially announced it. Frontman Schuylar Croom replaced Dallas Taylor with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster from September 2009 to February 2010. His first event since stepping away was announced for He Is Legend on October 16, 2011.
