Grouplove Information
Grouplove is an American alternative rock band. The band was formed in 2009. It was created by Hannah Hooper (keyboards, vocals), Sean Gadd (bass), Christian Zucconi (guitar, vocals), Benjamin Homola (drums), and Andrew Wessen (vocals, guitar). Ryan Rabin produced the debut self-titled EP of the group. This EP was initially released independently. Later on, the album was re-released by Atlantic/Canvasback. The re-release of the album was with a bonus track that went hit and called “Colours.”
Grouplove also became well-known when they released another single “Tongue Tied.” The band’s debut album was released worldwide on September 13, 2011, Rabin produced that. The collection named “Never Trusts A Happy Song.”
Grouplove was formed out of a friendship. Hooper and Zucconi met first, and slowly they kept meeting with the rest of the members; hence, the band eventually formed. The group didn’t form immediately after all of them attended, but it took around a year to create the actual band. That is when Hooper, Zucconi, and Gadd gathered their funds to arrange a trip to Rabin’s recording studio that was in Los Angeles.
On May 10, 2010, the band played their first show in Los Angeles at EI Cid. In the same year, later, Grouplove went on the tour on the west coast with Florence and The Machine. After the west coast, they went to the east coast with The Joy Formidable. Grouplove got recognized as one of the top ten bands in the “Best New Bands in 2010”.
So far, the band has released various studio albums, including “Spreading Rumours (September 5, 2011)”, “Big Mess (September 9, 2016)”, and “Healer (scheduled to be released on March 13, 2020)”.
