Gang of Youths Information
Sydney's Gang of Youths is an alt-rock outfit with British roots. The band's primary songwriters are David Le'aupepe, Max Dunn, Jung Kim, Donnie Borzestowski, and Tom Hobden.
After debuting at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart in May 2015, the band's first studio album, The Positions, received multiple nominations for the annual Australian Recording Industry Association awards. Preceded by the single "Let Me Down Easy," which peaked in the top 50 in Australia, they launched their second album, Go Farther in Lightness, in 2017. Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Rock Album, and Producer of the Year were just four of the ARIA Music Awards of 2017 that the record ended up taking home in addition to its No. 1 debut on the Australian album chart (alongside Adrian Breakspear).
On February 25, 2022, they released their third studio album, Angel in Realtime, which quickly rose on the Australian Albums Chart and to the top ten in the UK Albums Chart upon its initial release. The band's third extended play, Immolation Tape, was released on May 20, 2022. It features a cover of Wilco's "Shot in the Arm," as well as early demos of "In the Wake of Your Leave," "Forbearance," and "Spirit Boy" from Angel in Realtime.
