Gallant Information
Christopher Joseph Gallant III (November 14, 1991) is an American songwriter and singer from Columbia, Maryland. He is professionally known as Gallant. He self-released his debut EP in 2014 called “Zebra.” Gallant was born in Washington, D.C. He started recording songs when he was in middle school. Gallant completed his graduation in music from the New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study. He moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2013 to pursue his music career.
On April 6, 2016, Gallant released his debut studio album “Ology.” The album was released worldwide. One of his singles, “Weight in Gold,” was played on Beats 1 by Zane Lowe. The single was first aired in June 2015. In the same year, Gallant also performed a tour with Sufjan Stevens during his North American tour. They performed 18 shows throughout the country. On this successful tour along with the debut of his single “Weight In Gold,” Gallant named one of 15 artists that were destined to “breakout” in 2016, believed by Spotify.
Gallant was also announced as the opener for the “Neon City” tour of Zhu. Gallant and Jhene Aiko released their first collaborative song on February 5, 2016, naming “Skipping Stones.” Gallant debuted the first episode of his new series with Sufjan Stevens called “In The Room” on January 6, 2016. For the second episode, Gallant partnered with Spotify, featuring Seal and premiered on March 9, 2016.
Gallant released another studio album, “Sweet Insomnia,” on October 25, 2019. It was under the label Mind of a Genius, Warner Bros.
