Foals Information
Foals are an English rock band based in Oxford, United Kingdom. The band was formed in 2005 by the lead singer Andrew Mears. The group consists of Yannis Philippakis (lead vocalist and guitarist), Jack Bevan (drummer and percussionist), Jimmy Smith (rhythm guitarist), and Edwin Congreave (keyboardist). The main genres of the band are indie rock, alternative rock, dance-punk, math rock, and art-rock. They are currently signed with Warner Records.
The Foals released a total of six albums since they came into existence. Their debut album was released with the title Antidotes on 8 April 2008. The album debuted at number 3 on the UK Album Charts. In the following couple of years, Foals released their second album with the title Total Life Forever (2009-10) in March of 2010. The album got nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize. Their next album was Holy Fire (2012-13), which was released in both the UK and the US on 11 February 2013.
They won the Best Track award for the “Inhaler” song of the album in 2013. The album What Went Down was released in 2015 and got nominated for Best Track. Their latest album was released in early 2019 as; Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost in two parts. Part one was announced on March 8, 2019, while part 2 was announced on October 18, 2019.
The Foals were nominated for the Best Album in 2010, 2013, and 2019 in the Mercury Prize. The band won two Best Track and one Best Album awards at the NME Awards. They also won Best Live Act, and Best Act in the World Today Awards of the Q Awards. Nominated for the Critics’ Choice Award and British Group Award, the Foals made their way to Brit Awards also.
