Filthy Friends Information
Filthy Friends is a rock supergroup founded in 2014 and based in Portland, Oregon. Its music is defined as alternative rock, and the current lineup of the band includes Kurt Bloch – lead guitar, Peter Buck – rhythm guitar, Scott McCaughey – keyboards, backing vocals, Corin Tucker – lead vocals, occasional guitar, and Linda Pitmon – drums, backing vocals. Two of the former members are Krist Novoselic – bass guitar and Bill Rieflin – drums. The group has worked only with the Kill Rock Stars label.
Filthy Friends was previously named Super Earth and first convened in a studio in 2014. The band performed numerous live shows in 2016 as a tribute to the late David Bowie. The same year, the band released its first song named "Despierta" – Spanish for "awake," which received criticism by U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump. "Any Kind of Crowd" was the debut single by Filthy Friends that was released on March 1, 2017, and later included on a 7" that also featured a cover entitled "Editions of You" of Roxy music, as its B-side.
Invitation was the debut album by Filthy Friends along with the lead single "The Arrival," released in August. The notable associate acts are King Crimson, The Baseball Project, R.E.M., Sleater-Kinney, and The Minus 5.
