Edwin McCain Information
Edwin McCain (January 20, 1970) is an American musician and singer-songwriter from Charleston, South Carolina. The music of McCain is defined as rock and indie rock. He graduated from Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, South Carolina. Later, he attended both the College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina University. Edwin McCain's band signed to the label Atlantic Records, and in 1994, he recorded his first major-label album, Honor Among Thieves. His second album followed, entitled Misguided Roses. "I'll Be" was a major hit single that was released in 1998. Some of the other initial releases by Edwin McCain include the charitable album, Live in the X Lounge, and a live version of "Solitude."
The third album by McCain was entitled Messenger that came out in summer 1999. The album included a second Top 40 hit entitled, "I Could Not Ask For More." The track was also featured on the soundtrack of the film "Message in a Bottle" in 1999. Some of the other notable albums by Edwin McCain are Far from Over June 19, 2001; The Austin Sessions February 25, 2003; Scream & Whisper June 22, 2004; Lost in America April 11, 2006; Nobody's Fault But Mine June 24, 2008; and Mercy Bound August 30, 2011. He also released two EPs entitled Phoenix May 8, 2015, and O Edwin, and Where Art Thou? August 12, 2016.
A few of the hit singles by Edwin are "See the Sky Again," "I Could Not Ask for More," "Write Me a Song," and "Some Kind of Wonderful."
