Dogstar Information
Dogstar is a Los Angeles, California, alternative rock band. During its original run, from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, the band enjoyed minor success but gained broad popularity thanks to bassist and Hollywood star Keanu Reeves.
In 1994, Bret Domrose became Dogstar's second vocalist and guitarist. The next year, they traveled extensively across the United States and Asia, supporting artists like David Bowie (where they performed a Pink Floyd cover) and Bon Jovi (where they supported the latter band on their 1995 These Days: Crossroads Tour in Australia and New Zealand). In July 2022, Dogstar announced their return with the hashtag "We're back" on Instagram.
Dogstar performed together again for the first time in nearly 20 years at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival in May 2023. Tracks chosen from the band's past two albums and some fresh songs from their planned third album were performed.
The band announced the release of their new albums "Somewhere Between the Power Lines" and "Palm Trees" on October 6, 2023, and dropped the first song, "Everything Turns Around," two months later. A 25-city tour across America and Japan has been announced to support the record, which kicks off in Hermosa Beach, California, on August 10.
