Disco Biscuits Information
The Disco Biscuits is an American jam band. The current lineup comprises Jon Gutwillig, Marc Brownstein, Allen Aucoin, and Aron Magner. In 1995, while enrolled at Penn, the Disco Biscuits came together. A love of psychedelic rock, electronic, soul, jazz, classical, and blues brought Brownstein, Gutwillig, Magner, and founding drummer Sam "Sammy" Altman together. Their unique live electronic sound, called "trance fusion," is influenced by their wide range of interests.
Both Brownstein and Gutwillig have penned rock operas. Before its debut at Silk City in Philadelphia on December 31, 1998, Gutwillig was the one who wrote the Hot Air Balloon. While on break from the band in early 2000, Brownstein composed the Chemical Warfare Brigade. The first performance by the Chemical Warfare Brigade at the Vanderbilt in Plainview, New York, on December 30, 2000, was by the Disco Biscuits. Revolution in Motion, the band's third opera, will be released on March 29, 2024, and portions were debuted in 2022.
