Deftones Information
Deftones is an American alternative metal band. The current lineup consists of Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, Chino Moreno, and Frank Delgado. The band's first album, Adrenaline, was released on October 3, 1995. It was recorded at Bad Animals Studio in Seattle, Washington. Deftones and Terry Date, who also worked on their next three albums, produced it. Despite initial commercial failure, the band attracted a loyal following through persistent touring, word of mouth, and online promotion.
Ohms, their newest album, came out on September 25, 2020, and was widely praised for the band's return to a louder sound. The departure of bassist Sergio Vega from the group was revealed in March of 2022. Over ten million albums have been sold by them. The band also welcomed touring guitarist Lance Jackman on May 20, 2022, when it was revealed that Jackman will fill in for Carpenter on the European leg of their 2022 tour.
Moreno has led numerous Deftones' side bands, including Crosses, Palms, and the supergroup Saudade, including musicians from Bad Brains, Cro-Mags, and the avant-jazz trio Medeski, Martin & Wood. Carpenter co-founded the electronic metal band Sol Invicto with producer Richie Londres, who also contributes to the band's sound.
