Defiant Information
Defiant is a Ukrainian band formed in the autumn of 2008. The band started when a few of the participants in the group called Mask of Loki decided to initiate a new project. The band was soon beefed up with new people inside, and the debate started about their name that eventually ended, and they are since called Defiant.
Defiant plays some of the melodic heavy-power metals with active use of elements from other genres. The band's main idea was to combine melody and energy harmonically. The Defiant members took bold steps, experimented, and searched for fresh musical ideas.
Defiant released their debut EP in 2010 entitled, Those Who Want to See the Light. The EP was presented on June 26 in Zaporizhia Rock Cafe Music Band Club. The EP was re-released with the arrival of their new vocalist.
Defiant also released their debut full-length album, Masquerade, in 2012. The album included 13 songs. The album was also released by a Russian label, Sublimity Records, in March 2013. Many of the songs were published in various Ukrainian and Russian rock collections.
Defiant released a single, "The Dragon Was Dying," in early 2014. It was an epic 10-minutes track from the band. It was recorded in collaboration with well-known singers and musicians from all over the country.
