Dave Grohl Information
David Eric Grohl (January 14, 1969) is an American record producer, musician, and songwriter. He was born in Warren, Ohio. He is the singer, guitarist, and major composer for Foo Fighters, for whom he founded the band. From 1990 through 1994, he was Nirvana's drummer. After drummer Kent Stax left, Grohl joined the punk rock band Scream at 17. He joined Nirvana as their drummer when Scream dissolved in 1990. Nirvana's second album, Nevermind (1991), was a worldwide success and included Grohl on drums for the first time. Following the death of Nirvana's lead singer Kurt Cobain in April 1994, Grohl formed Foo Fighters as a solo act.
In 1995, the first Foo Fighters album was published, and a full band was created to perform under the Foo Fighters name; eight studio albums have been released. Grohl has recorded and performed with Queens of the Stone Age and is the drummer and co-founder of the rock ensemble Them Crooked Vultures. He's also worked on Late! and Probot as a side project. Grohl began directing music videos for the Foo Fighters in 1997, and his first documentary, Sound City, was published in 2013. Sonic Highways (2014), a documentary miniseries, and What Drives Us, a documentary feature, followed (2021). Grohl published his autobiography, The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music, in 2021.
