Daughtry Information
Daughtry is an American rock band established under the leadership of Chris Daughtry, the band's namesake and a former American Idol finalist from the fifth season. When it came out in November 2006, their self-titled first album topped the Billboard 200.
More than six million copies of the album were sold in the US alone, and the RIAA has certified it six times platinum. According to Billboard, Daughtry's 2007 record was Nielsen SoundScan's best-selling debut rock album.
Released in July 2009, the band's second album, Leave This Town, became Daughtry's second US number-one album upon its debut on the Billboard 200 list. The RIAA has recognized Leave This Town as platinum, and the album has sold over 1.3 million copies in the US.
After its November 2013 release, Baptized—Daughtry's fourth studio album—debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 list with sales of around 90,000 units.
Big Machine Records announced the band's signing in August 2023. "Artificial" was their latest single, which dropped on August 11. It peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay list in January 2024.
