Crazy Town Information
Crazy Town is a rap-rock band with the current lineup consisting of Filippo Dallinferno, Roland Banks, Hasma Angeleno, Elias Tannous aka “ET,” Rick “R1ckOne” Dixon, and Seth “Shifty” Binzer. Crazy Town is best known for their smash single “Butterfly,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2000 and helped their debut album, The Gift of Game (1999), sell over 1.5 million copies.
Crazy Town signed to tour with Ozzfest in 2000, but they had to cancel after only two weeks when Binzer was jailed for throwing a chair through a window while inebriated. Crazy Town’s third song, “Butterfly,” was released in 2001 and used samples from Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Pretty Little Ditty.” On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it peaked at number one. Before launching “Butterfly,” Soundscan claims 100,000 album sales of The Gift of Game; after “Butterfly” became number one, sales surpassed 1.5 million.
Crazy Town was in the studio making a new album, The Brimstone Sluggers, in 2013. Crazy Town released their first official single from the album entitled “Megatron” on December 18, 2014. During Impact Wrestling’s tenure on Destination America in 2015, the song was used as the theme song.
