Cloud Nothings Information
Cloud Nothings is an indie rock band led by singer-songwriter Dylan Baldi, based in Cleveland, Ohio. The band began as a solo project in 2009, with Baldi recording both vocals and instrumentals in his parents’ basement, despite performing live with a full band. The current lineup of the group includes Dylan Baldi (lead guitarist and singer), Jayson Gerycz (drummer), TJ Duke (bassist), and Chris Brown (guitarist). Carpark Records, located in Washington, D.C., has signed the band.
Baldi collaborated with producer Chester Gwazda in his Baltimore studio after his American and European tours and released Cloud Nothings in January 2011. Kevin Greenspan of Bridgetown Records heard Cloud Nothings’ music and volunteered to release the eight-song EP Turning On, which includes the single “Hey Cool Kid.” “Didn’t You,” their song, was used in the 2013 film “Chlorine.”
Attack on Memory, the band’s third album, was released in January 2012. Electrical Audio was used to record the track alongside producer/engineer Steve Albini. Here and Nowhere Else, their fourth album, was recorded at Water Music Studios with producer John Congleton and released on Carpark Records on April 1, 2014.
Cloud Nothings has released several studio albums, including Life Without Sound (January 27, 2017), Last Building Burning (October 19, 2018), The Black Hole Understands (July 3, 2020), Life Is Only One Event (December 4, 2020), and The Shadow I Remember (February 26, 2021). The group has also released numerous EPs such as October 2020 (2020), November 2020 (2020), December 2020 (2020), January (2021), and the sequence continues.
