Cheryl Pepsii Riley Information
Cheryl Pepsii Riley (October 18, 1961) is an American actress and singer. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. Riley was a student at Clara Barton High School. Before pursuing a career in music, Riley worked as a nurse for children with special needs after graduating from high school. With the 1982 single "You Can't Have It," Riley's musical career officially began.
Written by Full Force, Riley's ballad "Thanks for My Child" topped the US R&B chart in November 1988 and peaked at No. 32 on the pop chart. The song reached its highest position on the UK Singles Chart at No. 75 in January 1989. 'Thanks for My Child' was inspired by Full Force member Bowlegged Lou's struggle through his wife's first pregnancy. In early 1989, the title track from her debut album, Me, Myself and I, peaked at No. 18 on the R&B singles chart. Later in the year, they released another single titled "Every Little Thing About You," which peaked at number 55 on the R&B charts.
Two singles, "How Can You Hurt The One You Love" and a version of Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way," were released from her second album, Chapters. Reprise published her third album, All That!, which included the hits "Gimme" and "Guess I'm In Love."
Riley returned to the entertainment industry in the late '90s when he contributed to the tracks "I Love It" and "Look Around" from The Beatnuts' album A Musical Massacre. In addition to her roles in Tyler Perry's hit plays like Madea's Class Reunion, Riley has acted in several gospel productions.
