Cheap Trick Information
Cheap Trick is a famous American rock band that was founded in 1973. The group originated from Rockford, Illinois. Lead vocalist Robin Zander, guitarist Rick Nielsen, drummer Bun E. Carlos, and bassist Tom Petersson founded it. The band's music falls in the power pop, hard rock, and pop rock genres.
The band's creative output, which combined elements of 1960s hard rock, guitar pop, and punk rock, served as a model for other power pop musicians. Later that year, when their second album, In Color, was released, Cheap Trick enjoyed massive success in Japan. Their self-titled debut album was first released in 1977.
Since its creation, the group has killed the new music vibe into the twenty-first century and has enjoyed more than 5,000 live performances. More than 20 million records have been sold by Cheap Trick, who also has a cult following. Many different mainstream and underground rock musicians have acknowledged their influence. In 2016, the group was admitted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Along with Stone Temple Pilots and Bush, the band was included in the Under the Southern Stars performance series for Australia in 2021. They took Live's position as the night's opening act. The concert series was postponed till 2022 in April 2021. When Petersson's open heart surgery prevented him from traveling in 2021, Robin Taylor Zander, Zander's son, filled in for him while he was on tour.
