Casey Neill Information
Casey Neill is a musician from Portland, Oregon, born in New Haven, CT, in 1971, although later moved to Olympia, WA, in 1989. He graduated from The Evergreen State College with a degree in ethnomusicology education. Neill soon developed as a unique artist in the Pacific Northwest's underground music community and released two of his initial cassettes. Later on, he released his first CD, Rifraff, in 1995. Rifraff and Dancing on The Ruins of Multinational Corporations were the two songs from this early album selected as the de facto soundtracks for many Earth First! protests in the 1990s.
Some of his other discographies include Good Bye to the Rank and File – 2010, Brooklyn Bridge – 2007, All You Pretty Vandals – 2013, Memory Against Forgetting- 2005, Live on 11th Street 2004, Raleigh & Spencer 7" 2003, Portland West, Skree, Casey Neill, and Wooden Shoes. He has worked with various record labels throughout his career, including Incident Recordings, In Music We Trust Records, Daemon Records, Broadside Records, Appleseed Recordings, and Mock Turtle Music.
Some of the exclusive compilation tracks released by Casey Neill are KBOO Pickathon 2003 Live, Hold Me Up To The Light: A Tribute to Peter Wilde (2003), KBOO Pickathon 2001 Live, and Where Have All the Flowers Gone: The Songs of Pete Seeger (1999). Casey Neill also leads Portland, Oregon-based band Casey Neill & The Norway Rats. The band plays folk-punk and is compared to that of The Pogues and R.E.M.
