Capstan Information
Capstan is an American post-hardcore band. The current lineup consists of Joseph Mabry (guitar), Scott Fisher (drums), Andrew Bozymowski (vocals and bass), Harrison Bormann (guitar), and Anthony DeMario (vocals). Growing Deaf, a split EP with the group Priorities, was independently released by the group on April 20, 2013. Capstan recorded their portion of the EP at home, while John Naclerio at NADA Studios mastered it. Seasonal Depression, Capstan's second EP, was independently released on December 2, 2014.
The group independently released an acoustic EP titled Parting Gifts on November 15, 2015. Parting Gifts was created at Torch & Star Studios, where it was also mixed and mastered. Capstan self-released its fourth EP, Cultural Divide, on July 19, 2016. The EP was favorably received, and Michael Kaminsky of KMGMT, manager of Neck Deep, As It Is, Tonight Alive, and other artists, became aware of the band.
In The Wake of Our Discord, Capstan's fifth EP was made available via Adventure Cat Records on January 12, 2018. At Always Be Genius Studios in Chicago, Seth Henderson produced, engineered, and mixed the EP. Kris Crummett at Interlace Audio in Portland, Oregon, mastered the EP.
