Candlebox Information
Candlebox is an American rock band that is from Seattle, Washington. The band was formed in 1990, consisting of bassist Bardi Martin, drummer Scott Mercado, guitarist Peter Klett, and lead singer Kevin Martin. Candlebox usually plays hard rock, grunge, alternative metal, and alternative rock musical genres. To date, the band has released six studio albums and countless charting singles. Most of their records achieved multi-platinum and gold certification. Candlebox faced segregation in 2000 but later got united in 2006.
The current band members are Kevin Martin, Adam Kury, Mike Leslie, Brian Quinn, Island Styles, and Dave Krusen. The band started performing live in the year 1991 in a few top clubs in Seattle. Candlebox released their self-titled debut album on July 20, 1993. It is stated to be the first successful act on Maverick Records that signed The Prodigy, Alanis Morissette, and Deftones. Some of the biggest hit songs included in this successful album are "Far Behind," “Cover Me,” and "You."
The next albums released by Candlebox are Lucy (October 3, 1995), Happy Pills (July 21, 1998), Into the Sun (July 22, 2008), Love Stories & Other Musings (April 3, 2012), and Disappearing in Airports (April 22, 2016). The Best of Candlebox (May 23, 2006) is a compilation album by the band, whereas Alive in Seattle CD+DVD (September 2, 2008) is the live album.
A few of the hit singles by Candlebox are "Simple Lessons," "Understanding," "Best Friend," "10,000 Horses", "It's Alright," "Stand," "Vexatious," "A Kiss Before," and a few more. Some of the other side recordings done by Candlebox are "Pull Away" - CD single B-side for "You," Can't Give In" Airheads Soundtrack (1994), "Glowing Soul" The Waterboy Soundtrack (1998), and a few more.
Candlebox traveled and toured with many famous bands such as Living Colour, The Flaming Lips, Metallica, Radiohead, Seaweed, Hinder, Our Lady Peace, Rush, and many more. The group also got featured on the main-stage at Woodstock '94.
