Bush Tetras Information
Bush Tetras is an American post-punk band that was formed in 1979, in New York City. The current lineup includes Pat Place on guitar, Cynthia Sley on vocals, Dee Pop on drums, and Val Opielski on bass. The group has released its projects under a few different record labels so far, including 99 Records, Fetish Records, Stiff Records, ROIR, Thirsty Ear, Tim/Kerr Records, and Polygram Records.
Bush Tetras released its very first 7” extended play entitled “Too Many Creeps” in 1980 on 99 Records. The EP reached number 57 on the Billboard club play chart. It was followed by another extended play album, “Things That Go Boom in the Night” under Fetish Records. The album hit number 43 on the UK Indie Chart.
Bush Tetras has made several compilation appearances, including Cold Turkey and Punch Drunk on Start Swimming, Das Ah Riot on The Last Testament, Cowboys in Africa on New York Punk!, and Punch Drunk on So Indie It Hurts: Roir Rocks Volume One. They have released a live album named Wild Things cassette-only. The notable studio albums Bush Tetras has released so far include Beauty Lies (1997), Very Very Happy (2007), and Happy (2012). Their notable singles include Things That Go Boom in the Night (1981), Can’t Be Funky (1981), and Page 18 (1996).
