Breakdown Information
The Breakdown is an American hardcore band that was founded in 1987. The band began during the resurgence of the hardcore scene. Breakdown was not known as the straight edge positive band. The current lineup of the band consists of Jeff Perlin, Don Angelilli, Carl Porcaro, Rich McLoughlin, Anthony Drago. The original lineup of the group only lasted for a year.
Over the years, Breakdown continued with new members. Jeff Perlin was the only original member to stay with the band and keep performing. An interesting fact about the group is that they haven’t toured the United States since their creation. However, they toured Japan in 2001, and they mostly tour Canada and the Northeast. The band has also toured Europe 4 times in 1999, 2001, 2009, and 2010.
In 1987, Breakdown released a demo cassette. The band went on hiatus for a short period, and in 2008, the band began playing gigs once again. They played gigs at the Black N Blue that was held in Brooklyn, New York City, as well as at the Built to Last Festival that was held in Providence in May of 2009.
