Bob Log III Information
Bob Log III (November 21, 1969) is an American slide guitar one-person band that is based in Tucson, Arizona, and Melbourne, Australia. He is known for his old Silverstone archtop guitars during his performances. He is also well-recognized due to his signature full body human cannonball suit in which he appears live. Bob Log III was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He listened to artists such as Chuck Berry, Hasil Adkins, Bo Diddley, and Screaming Jay Hawkins while growing up.
Log began his music career with touring and recording beside Mondo Guano. It was a four-piece slide guitar, blues, home-made percussion band. He left the group and later joined the Delta blues-rock band called “Doo Rag.” He worked with the group for six years straight and then went to start his solo career. Bob Log III has worked with several record labels throughout his career, including Bloat, Sympathy for the Record Industry, Drop Kick, Fat Possum, Fanboy, and Epitaph.
One unique thing about Bob’s live performances is that he often calls audience members, whether a male or a female, on stage to sit on his knee while still playing. Some of Bob’s notable singles include “Daddy Log’s Drive-In Candy Hoppin Car Babes,” “I Want Your Shit On My Let,” “Bubble Strut,” “Bump Pow! Bump Bump Bump Pow!....”, “Riverside (tribute),” and “Party Van.”
Bob has also released several notable studio albums so far, including School Bus (1998), Trike (1999), Live!!! Aloha from Japan (2000), Log Bomb (2003), My Shit is Perfect (2009), Hiram & Huddie Disc 1 – A Tribute to Hank Williams Sr* (2009), and a few more.
