Blackfoot Information
Blackfoot is an American Southern rock band. In 2004, original members Jakson Spires, Greg T. Walker, and Charlie Hargrett reunited to form Blackfoot again. Bobby Barth (of the band Axe) stepped in to sing lead when Medlocke was unavailable. The band continued after the untimely death of Spires on March 16, 2005, from an aneurysm at the age of 53. Christoph Ullmann, a drummer from Austria, was brought on board to play drums for Spires as per the band's wishes.
During 2006, the band traveled and was joined by Skinny Molly's Jay Johnson (the son of Jimmy Johnson, their original co-producer) on guitar and vocals after Barth was sidelined for a shoulder and neck operation. Johnson stayed on for a while, but Barth returned to performing later that year. Blackfoot fired Johnson and McConnell in April of 2007. That year, Walker on bass, Hargrett, Barth, and Michael Sollars on drums made up the touring band.
Southern Native, Blackfoot's first album in 20 years, was released on August 5, 2016. On August 2, 2016, the music video and preview clips were shared on social media and other outlets. Even though the band no longer includes original members, Medlocke occasionally performs with them.
