He spent a few years in Nashville, where he gained a deep attraction towards the acoustic and bluegrass music scene. Failing is best known for blending various musical styles and creating something new for his band. The current style of his band is defined as bluegrass. In short, it is deeply rooted in American roots music.
He is currently working as a permanent member of the bluegrass guitar phenom Billy Strings band. He also extensively toured with Strings for many years. Billy Failing initially recorded music under his name. His self-released debut solo album in 2017 entitled “Calling My Trouble by Name.” This album features some of the finest acoustic musicians coming from Nashville.
