Big Something Information
Big Something is an American alternative rock band that originated from Burlington, North Carolina. The band was founded in 2009. It started in the Maryland area under the name "anonymous" and later evolved by the name Big Something. The music of the band is defined as alternative rock, funk, and electronic. The current lineup of Big Something consists of Nick MacDaniels - Lead Vocals, Doug Marshall – Bass, Josh Kagel - Keys, Trumpet, Casey Cranford - Sax, EWI, Jesse Hensley - Lead Guitar, and Ben Vinograd – Drums.
Big Something is popular for its high-energy live performances, as well as are a famous staple at many music festivals. The band has opened for The B52s, Galactic, Umphrey's McGee, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and a few other bands in their genre. The band also hosts its annual music festival named The Big What, which is held in Mebane, North Carolina.
The first studio album by Big Something was Songs From the Middle of Nowhere. This album was released in 2009 and won the Home Grown Music Network's 2010 Album of the Year award. The band has released four more studio albums to date. Live from Uranus was a Live album by Big Something, which was followed by their second, self-titled album in 2013. The sophomore album by Big Something earned three different Album of the Year awards from Angelica Music, the Home Grown Music Network, and Endless Boundaries radio.
Truth Serum was the third studio album by Big something released in November 2014. Some of the notable singles released by the band are "Tumbleweed" in December 2016, "Megaladon" and "Capt. D".
