Big Pokey Information
Milton Powell (November 29, 1977) is an American rapper from Houston, Texas, better known by his stage name, Big Pokey. He started rapping with Houston producer DJ Screw during the early 1990s. He released songs on different DJ Screw’s mixtapes. Big Pokey has also been featured on DJ Screw’s mixtape entitled “June 27 Freestyle”. The mixtape became a landmark album in screwed and chopped hip hop. On May 18, 1999, he released his debut full-length album entitled Hardest Pit in the Litter.
On August 22, 2000, Big Pokey released his second studio album entitled D-Game 2000. The album featured many of his Houston fellows as guests. Big Pokey collaborated with the Wreckshop Wolfpack for The Collabo in 2001. He then returned with another solo album, Da Sky’s Da Limit, in 2002. One of Pokey’s songs clip, “Who Dat Talkin Down,” was featured in HBO’s pilot episode of Entourage in 2004.
Big Pokey was featured on a track by Paul Wall entitled “Sittin’ Sidewayz.” The track reached number 93 on US Billboard Hot 100. In 2001, he appeared in the film entitled “Soldiers United for Cash.” He has also starred in the movie named Dirty Third 2: Home Sweet Home.
