Bent Knee Information
Bent Knee was born in 2009 when guitarist Ben Levin and singer Courtney Swain began collaborating on songs at Berklee. The name "Ben" + "[Cour]tney" is a combination of the two names of the band's original members. The band self-released their debut album, 2011's Bent Knee, and their sophomore effort, 2014's Shiny Eyed Babies.
They signed with the American indie label Cuneiform Records in the latter half of 2015 and released their debut album, Say So, the following year. The band signed with Inside Out Music in April of 2017 for the release of their fourth studio album, Land Animal, on June 23, 2017. You Know What They Mean, their fifth studio album, came out in October 2019 via Inside Out Music.
Frosting by Bent Knee, the band's sixth studio album, was released in November 2021 on Take This To Heart Records. In March of 2017, Rock Band 4 Rivals offered a free early version of the song "These Hands" from the album Land Animal. The departures of Ben Levin and Jessica Kion were announced in May 2022.
