BadCameo Information
BadCameo is an indie-funk fusion trio that originated and is based in Clearwater, FL. The current lineup of the group includes Geoff Weber (keyboard, bass, flute), Lando Pieroni (vocals, guitar), and Dan Mead (drums). The trio is known for its jazzy vibe. The founding members of the trio, Pieroni and Weber, met at Wake Forest University. The two used to play music together for fun, with Pieroni on guitar and Weber playing some mean bass. Before the inception of BadCameo, Weber used to play in a cover band called the Wingmen. He then met Dan Mead, who was playing drums in the same cover band. The three of them soon connected and began playing.
BadCameo shares their influences to be Steely Dan and The Doors, although they are also fans of the neo-soul trio composed of Tom Misch, Rocco Palladino, and Yussef Dayes. Some of the other influences include João Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Snarky Puppy, D’Angelo, Albert King, Astrud Gilberto, and Aretha Franklin. The trio released its very first EP in February 2020, entitled “Neon Souls.” It was the first fully produced studio project by the trio, which was created in-house.
“Pink Leather” is another recent release by BadCameo, which is defined as an ode to spontaneity. “Great Outdoors” is another single from the same album.
