Arkells Information
Arkells is a Canadian rock band. The current lineup consists of Anthony Carone (vocals, keyboards, and guitar), Tim Oxford (drums and percussion), Nick Dika (bass), Mike DeAngelis (vocals and guitar), and Max Kerman (vocals and guitar). The band was formed in 2006 in Hamilton. They signed with Dine Alone Records the same year for some time, and since after that, they have been signed with Universal Records Canada and Last Gang Records. Last Gang Management manages the band.
Arkells released its debut album entitled Jackson Square on October 28, 2008. Later, they toured Canada the same year as an opening act for Matt Mays & EI Torpedo. On November 22, 2008, Arkells performed the halftime show in their hometown at the Vanier Cup. The band went on another tour of Canada in early 2009 with Walking Eyes.
Arkells released its first two EPs, including Deadlines EP and Deadlines EP (digital re-issue), in 2007 and 2008. Other albums released by Arkells include Michigan Left (October 18, 2011), High Noon (August 5, 2014), Study Music EP (October 25, 2015), Morning Report (August 5, 2016), Rally Cry (October 19, 2018), Campfire Chords (August 20, 2020), and Blink Once (September 22, 2021).
Notable hit singles of Arkells are “Oh, The Boss Is Coming!”, “Ballad of Hugo Chavez,” “Pullin’ Punches,” “John Lennon,” “On Paper,” “Ticats are Hummin,” “Come to Light,” “Never Though That This Would Happen,” “Private School,” “My Heart’s Always Yours,” “Knocking at the Door,” and several others.
