Andrew Duhon is an American singer and songwriter based in New Orleans. He started his songwriting career in high school as he was quite impressed and fascinated with the works of Thoreau and Emerson and a few poets, including Robert Frost and Walt Whitman. During the summer of 2002, Duhon worked and lived at an old retreat house that was located on the outskirts of the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Hurricane Katrina devastated the city and Duhon’s previous French Quarter house a year later. As Duhon continued to compose, the blues he had discovered in the French Quarter rang true. Duhon’s songwriting is honest due to the self-realization he has gained via his writing. His songs and performances represent his unique perspective in a very real way, and his voice fills the room with a conviction that is all too suitable for his honest, intimate writings.
