After The Burial Information
After the Burial is a progressive metal band, the current lineup consists of Adrian Oropeza, Dan Carle, Anthony Notarmaso, and Trent Hafdahl. They were formed in 2004 after the Burial and comprised high school friends Nick Wellner, Trent Hafdahl, Justin Lowe, and Greg Erickson. Dave Coleman was the original bass player fill-in while they looked for a more permanent solution.
A call for musicians was put out on an extreme forum in the Twin Cities, and Lee Foral answered. Forging a Future Self, the band's debut recording was recorded in the latter half of 2005 and released on March 1, 2006. Despite the lack of a formal record contract, it was released through Corrosive Records.
Later, after signing with Sumerian Records, Erickson, and Wellner left, and Grant Luoma (of local group Nostalia) was brought on as vocalist. Eric Robles replaced Erickson on drums but left before the band could make their second album. In 2008, the band went into the studio to make their second full-length, Rareform. Various labels have been applied to After the Burial's sound, including progressive metal, metalcore, deathcore, and djent.
