A Motown Christmas is a compilation album of Christmas music initially published by Motown Records on September 25, 1973, as a two-LP set of albums. A variety of seasonal singles and album songs are included on it, all of which were released by artists signed to the label during the 1960s and early 1970s.
The compilation Merry Christmas from Motown, published in 1968, had several of the songs included in this collection. There have been other instances where the music has been repurposed into various packaging.
The album was published on compact disk in 1992, and all 24 tracks from the original album were stored on a single CD. An additional track by Marvin Gaye, "I Want to Come Home for Christmas," was included in the new single CD edition published in 1999.
