The group has amassed an audience of roughly 10 million since its 1991 debut. The show's original premise was based on the Australian custom of not leaving tips. Their debut performance took place in an abandoned theater in The Frontier in 2001, and in 2002, they secured a slot at the Excalibur Hotel.
Thunder has been touring nonstop since then, including stops in over fifteen countries. In 2017, they will visit Thailand, China, Russia, England, Canada, South Africa, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and Mexico. The group releases a documentary about the filming and a calendar featuring the dancers every year.
