Suffs Information
The musical Suffs, written, composed, and starred by Shaina Taub, is based on the lives of suffragists and the American women's suffrage movement. The show traces the events leading up to 1920, when the nineteenth amendment was ratified, granting the right to vote to certain women, mostly white women. In April 2022, it made its off-Broadway debut at The Public Theater.
The announcement that the musical will move to Broadway in the spring of 2024 came in October 2023. The film's producers include Malala Yousafzai, a former Pakistani activist, and Hillary Clinton, who served as first lady and secretary of state. Silverman took over as director again. We announced the whole cast in January 2024. Most off-Broadway ensembles returned for the revival, except Phillipa Soo. The Music Box Theatre hosted the show's official opening night on April 18, 2024, following previews that started on March 26, 2024.
