Plaza Suite Information
Plaza Suite is a comedic play by Neil Simon. It consists of three acts, each involving different individuals but all set in Suite 719 of New York City's Plaza Hotel. The audience is introduced to the unsettled newlyweds Sam and Karen Nash in the first act, Visitor From Mamaroneck. Karen is trying to reignite the romance in her marriage by returning to their honeymoon suite.
The 1968 New Haven Shubert Theatre and Boston Colonial Theatre were the venues for the world premieres of Plaza Suite before the show's 1968 Broadway run. After 1,097 performances (including two previews), Plaza Suite went on to end on October 3, 1970, at the Plymouth Theatre on Broadway. The show premiered on February 14, 1968. With Hickey directing once again and Broderick and Parker reuniting as their respective characters, the news broke in June 2023 that the Broadway production of Plaza Suite will go to the West End of London.
The formal opening night of the performance was January 28, 2024. However, previews began at the Savoy Theatre on January 17, 2024. The production was initially scheduled for ten weeks, ending on March 30. However, due to overwhelming demand, it was prolonged for two weeks and remained in production until April 13.
