Marcus G. Curry (June 1, 1961) is professionally known as Mark Curry. He is an American actor, comedian, and host best known for his role as Mark Cooper, who was an ex-basketball player turned teacher on the ABC sitcom Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. He is originally from Oakland, California, and was the youngest of nine children. During his childhood, Mark Curry was a participant at the East Oakland Youth Development Center (EOYDC), which was a local youth organization. In Alameda, California, Curry attended St. Joseph Notre Dame High School. Later on, Curry went to California State University, East Bay, in Hayward, California.
Curry's professional career began with his first role in the feature film Talkin' Dirty After Dark in 1991. Is this film, he was seen alongside Martin Lawrence. His first major role was on the ABC sitcom Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, which debuted in September 1992. He also guest-starred on the sitcom Living Single in 1994. Some of his other guest appearances include on the sitcom Martin, two episodes of The Jamie Foxx Show, For Your Love, and a few more.
Curry also appeared in the 1997 feature film Switchback, 1998 feature film Armageddon, A Man Is Mostly Water 2000, Motorcrossed 2001, The Poof Point 2001, Poolboy: Drowning Out The Fury 2011, and a few more. In 2000, on the Drew Carey Show, Curry had a recurring role. In the same year, he hosted the Comedy Central game show Don't Forget Your Toothbrush.
