Jen Hatmaker (197) is an American speaker, author, blogger, and television representative. She has been married to Brandon since 1993, and they have five kids. The entire family together hosts the HGTV series Your Big Family Renovation. Jen has featured in Christianity Today magazine. She is best known for her New York Times bestselling book: "For the Love.” The couple, along with Jason Morriss and Tray Pruet, leads Austin New Church, which is located at 2701 South Lamar Blvd (Austin, Texas).
Jen Hatmaker headlines women's events, adoption conferences, parenting conferences, and relevant events. She fully participates with her husband in a variety of social service ministries, which include the Legacy Collective (active in Texas since hurricane recovery). Jen is also the founder of the Jen Hatmaker Book Club.
Jen hatmaker called for the full inclusion of LGBT people into the Christian community in April 2016. She also left her position in October of the same year. As a result of this, LifeWay Christian Resources decided to discontinue selling publications by Hatmaker. Due to this, since the presidential elections of 2016, Jen Hatmaker alleges that she has been receiving several death threats for making open public statements critical of Donald Trump as well as for openly challenging evangelical Christian attitudes towards LGBT people. Her family has been harassed many times by the community where she lives (Buda, Texas).
